Veteran looking for help after men steal his trailer

OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A local veteran is looking for answers after a trailer was stolen from his yard, and surveillance cameras captured the whole thing on video.

The video shows two men hooking up the trailer to an SUV, around noon on Wednesday at the home of Richard Todd in Oregon City.

After several minutes, the suspects drove off with the trailer.

Todd called police but so far the suspects haven't been identified. He said this has left his family worried and scared.

"The thing that bothers me the most is that they went up to my front door and rang the doorbell,” Todd said. “They went prowling around back, my wife's scared. Her niece just came from Vietnam about two weeks ago and she's scared senseless."

Todd said the trailer is worth about $7,000, and the tool box that was attached to it is worth about $800.

"Well they're lucky they didn't get shot because I protect my family, my property, and my rights, you know," he added.

Todd said he is offering a $500 reward for the return of the trailer and tool box, along with an arrest and conviction of the people who took it.
