LAFAYETTE, OR (KPTV) -

A man is facing attempted murder charges after deputies said he attacked two female family members with nunchucks in Yamhill County.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of East 3rd Street in Lafayette at 1 p.m. Saturday.

They arrived to find two females bleeding from wounds to their heads. The suspect, identified as Kasey David Allan Heermann, 28, was arrested at the scene.

Investigators determined the victims were relatives of Heermann and that he had attacked them using nunchucks, a martial arts weapon.

Investigators have not released any details about what led to the attack.

One of the victims was taken by medical helicopter to the trauma unit of a Portland hospital with severe head and eye injuries. The other was taken to the hospital with a serious head injury.

Heermann was booked in the Yamhill County Jail on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

His bail was set at $465,000. Heermann is set to be arraigned in court Monday.
