(KPTV) -

Hands-only CPR is a life-saving technique supported by the American Heart Association for bystanders to use in case of seeing someone suddenly collapse consisting of two steps: calling 911 and pushing the victim hard and fast in the center of the chest.

The AHA has put together multiple training guides and tools for the public to use to learn the hands-only CPR method.

On their website, Heart.org, the AHA describes the process as pushing hard and fast on the victim’s chest to the beat of the disco song “Stayin’ Alive.”

The simpler technique to this process is designed to help overcome hesitation and panic on the part of bystanders if an incident occurs.

Hands-Only CPR is recommended for teens or adults seen to suddenly collapse. For more answers about Hands-only CPR, visit Heart.org.
