Motorcyclist critically injured in crash with cargo van on SE Grand

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash with a cargo van in southeast Portland.

Emergency crews responded to Southeast Oak Street and Grand Avenue at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday. 

Investigators said the 31-year-old man on the motorcycle collided with the van. The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

He remained in critical condition Tuesday evening, according to police. His name has not been released. 

Officers said the driver of the cargo van remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No arrests were made or citations issued in connection to the crash. 

No other details were released about the crash Tuesday.

The Major Crash Team responded to conduct an investigation.

Grand Avenue was blocked one street south of Oak Street to drivers. TriMet buses and the Portland Streetcar were still getting through.

The road reopened at around 4 p.m.
