VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

One of Washington's most wanted suspects was arrested after tossing a gun and running from a stolen SUV he had been recklessly driving in Vancouver, according to deputies.

At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, an off duty Clark County deputy spotted a Nissan Pathfinder driving recklessly south on St. James Road. The deputy reported called 911 and learned the SUV had been reported stolen.

As patrol deputies arrived in the area, the stolen vehicle pulled into the Steeple Chase Apartments. Investigators said the driver ignored the lights and sirens and attempted to speed away, so a deputy performed a pursuit intervention maneuver with his patrol car to stop him.

Deputies said the driver, identified as Timothy Delisle, 23, continued trying to drive away before the Pathfinder was pushed up against a tree and an unoccupied car in the parking lot.

At that point, deputies said Delisle tried to run away and was seen throwing a handgun. He was caught and taken into custody after a brief struggle, according to deputies.

The handgun was recovered at the scene.

Delisle was booked in the Clark County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude, felon in possession of a handgun and possession of methamphetamine.

He also had a felony warrant from the Washington State Department of Corrections. Delisle was listed as one of the department's most wanted suspects on charges of vehicular assault by driving under the influence.

Nobody was hurt during Thursday's arrest incident, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
