PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Pope Francis arrived in New York on Thursday for day three of his historic visit to the United States.

On Friday, Pope Francis will speak before the U.N. General Assembly, visit the 9/11 memorial and hold Mass at Madison Square Garden.

The Pope's final stop is Philadelphia this weekend and that's where several local high schoolers will be able to see Pope Francis speak.

Ruby Gray, Ashlyn Bronson and Anna Wanner are apart of a small group of Jesuit High School students selected to see Pope Francis in Philadelphia.

They will be able to see him twice and attend his Mass on Sunday.

The group will be going to an event on Saturday that require tickets, where Pope Francis is expected to talk about family and marriage.

"I want to take away the importance of families since we are going there to discuss family. In today's society, it's less about the community of a family and more about getting stuff done," said Ruby Gray.

"I'm wanting to get some kind of inspiration, something that really moves me to do something bigger, to create a social justice change in the Portland area," said Ashlyn Bronson.

"To be able to see him and hear him in person is just unimaginable. I still can't believe I'm doing this this weekend," said Anna Wanner.

The girls said they feel very lucky to have been selected. Each girl represents a different parish in the Portland Archdiocese.

The group will also meet with other students from across the country.
