Washington County deputies and Portland police are working together after two Subways were robbed in the metro area Wednesday morning.

Investigators are working to determine if the two robberies are connected.

According to police, the first Subway was hit around 4 a.m. Wednesday on Southeast 12th and Powell in Portland. Two men armed with handguns entered the shop and demanded money.

They were last seen walking west on Powell Boulevard. Officers checked the neighborhood, but did not locate the suspects.

Investigators said that another Subway was robbed shortly before 5 a.m. on Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.

Washington County deputies said two men went into the Beaverton Subway and demanded money while pointing a gun at workers.

Deputies blocked off the area around 107th and Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway while they investigated. A K-9 unit was called out to help with the search.

Deputies said the suspects got away with ‘a very small amount of cash’ in the Beaverton robbery.

Police said the Portland robbery suspects are described as black men in their 20s wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call robbery detectives at 503-823-0405.
