WCSO deputies involved in deadly shooting in Aloha

ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were involved with a deadly shooting with a woman in Aloha Friday evening.

According to Sgt. David Thompson, three deputies were responding to a disturbance call just before 5:00 p.m.. The deputies attempted to subdue a woman at the scene with less than lethal force before firing their weapons. 

The woman, Phyllis Ilene Jepsen, 55, was taken to OHSU, where she later died from her injuries. 

The incident occurred at an apartment complex near 180th Avenue and Shaw Street.

Officers did not evacuate the complex, but they were restricting movement of people coming in and out of the complex.

Investigators from the Beaverton, Forest Grove, and Tigard police departments responded to the incident as well.

The officer who shot Jepsen was not identified, and has been placed on paid administrative leave.
