ROSEBURG, OR (KPTV) -

President Obama is traveling to Roseburg on Friday and will meet with the families of Umpqua Community College shooting victims.

A White House spokesperson said Monday that details regarding the president's trip to Oregon will be made in the coming days.

The president plans to meet privately with family members of victims from last week's deadly mass shooting at the school near Roseburg.

The shooter killed nine people and then himself Thursday morning. Many more were injured. The victims ranged in age from 18 to 67.

Immediately after the shooting, President Obama said the nation's response to mass shootings had become "routine" and challenged voters to think about gun laws when making election decisions.

The Umpqua Community College campus reopened on Monday. Classes are set to resume Oct. 12.
