Burglary at NE Portland church caught on camera

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A northeast Portland church was ransacked early Monday morning. Surveillance video shows a woman climbing through a bathroom window to get into Mien Fellowship Baptist Church around 1:08 a.m.

Two men and another women are also seen on video walking around the church building, which is located near Northeast 112th and Wygant. The church deacon told Fox 12 the kitchen and sanctuary were ransacked, with food, appliances and electronics equipment taken.

The church was also burglarized in January, when police arrested two men accused of trying to steal the church’s air conditioning units.

The church leaders are frustrated by the crimes. They’ve put up fencing and surveillance cameras and worked with police to try to prevent burglaries.

“The whole congregation just feels unease and it’s hard for everyone here after each incident,” the church’s deacon told Fox 12.

If you recognize the people in the surveillance video, contact Portland police.
