Wave of violence in Portland claims fourth victim since the weekend

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A surge of violence has the Portland Police Bureau on alert. Four people have been killed in three different acts of violence in the last few days.

Two were killed outside the Hour Glass Pub, and another died near Pallas, a strip club on Powell, over the weekend.

Monday night another man was found covered with blood in the streets of north Portland. He later died at the scene, and the hunt is on for his killer.

On Tuesday, the PPB released the name of the victim, Gerardo Granados-Marin.

Someone called 911 around 7:30 p.m. Monday, and when police got to North Columbia the man was barely conscious and bloody. Medics responding to the scene were not able to save him.

The big question is what exactly happened to Granados-Marin. Police don't yet have the answer, but they did confirm he was not shot. Tuesday the medical examiner said Granados-Marin suffered multiple sharp force injuries.

Neighbors were shocked at seeing all the police in their neighborhood last night, and again this morning when they saw that officers were still there.

“It's a little scary, we don't know what's going on,” local resident Bettina Robinson said. “There are lots of kids in the neighborhood there just seems like there is always something going on in the neighborhood.”

There is no information so far about a suspect in the case. If you know anything about these investigations, please contact the PPB.
