Police seize 12.5 pounds of meth in two Portland area traffic stops

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two separate traffic stops in Portland led to the seizure of 12.5 pounds of meth, according to Portland police.

The Portland Police Bureau Drugs and Vice Division said both stops happened over just the last several days.

One stop resulted in the seizure of 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine, while the other resulted in officers recovering eight pounds of meth and a handgun, according to police.

Two men were arrested in the separate incidents. Jaime Hurtado Sanchez was booked in the Clackamas County Jail and Jesus Felipe Florez-Meza was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of delivery and possession of methamphetamine.

The estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is $227,000, according to detectives.
