VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Pink was the popular color in downtown Vancouver on Sunday as crowds showed up for the ninth running of ‘Girlfriends Run for a Cure.’

Runners had the option of running a quarter-marathon or a half-marathon in order to raise money for breast cancer research.

Events included music, chocolate, massages, and even firemen at the finish line.

Many competitors whose lives have been touched by breast cancer ran to show their support.

‘Girlfriends Run for a Cure’ has raised more than $350,000 in the past eight years.
