A touching gesture to honor a father comes full circle for an Oregon woman.

Jack Allen past away last February. When Father's Day rolled around, Jack's daughter, Kerry and her family decided to send their love to him as high as they could go.

They expressed how much they missed and loved him by writing on balloons. Then, they let them go high above the city of McMinnville.

Several balloons, each with their own special message, slowly disappeared into the blue sky.

Just this past week, Kerry said she got a voice mail from a stranger.

Derrik Bleichner is a logger in Washougal and spotted a balloon in a clear cut area.

Derrik called the phone number on it and left Kerry a message and wanted to send the balloon back to her.

Kerry said she takes what happened as a sign from her dad.

"I'm just very happy that it's all turned out the way it has for him to find the balloon, and I just feel there's a huge connection here with everything and I just really want to thank him for finding it and calling and mailing it to me, and just, I feel like my dad has done a great job on getting all this connected the way he has," said Kerry.

"It's nice being a part of something bigger than yourself. Like I said it was kind of weird to let it go on Father's Day and I found it two days before her father's birthday," said Derrik.

Kerry said she is now Facebook friends with Derrik but they have yet to meet in person.

She said she plans to frame the balloon and keep it forever.
