OSU football players, Benny the Beaver visit patients at Randall Children's Hospital

A few Oregon State football players and Benny the Beaver stopped by Randall Children's Hospital to help put smiles on some faces, and for one patient, the visit was especially memorable.

Football is a big deal for Evan McKay. He played on the team at Scappoose High School and his family members are big Oregon State fans, but one day he got a bad headache which later changed his whole world.

Evan's mother, Anne Baker, said about three weeks ago she took him to a doctor because he was suffering from a bad headache. Evan was then rushed to an emergency room where doctors found out he had a large brain tumor.

Anne said it's a stage four tumor and is very aggressive.

Doctors performed two surgeries on Evan. Since then, Anne said his memory comes and goes.

However, when the Beaver players came for a visit on Tuesday, he recognized one particular player that put a smile on not only his but his mother's face.

"It's really cool with their busy schedule and sincerity and taking the time to give him autographs. I haven't seen a full smile on him for a long time," said Anne.

The Beaver players created more memories and smiles with other patients by taking pictures with them and signing autographs.
