LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -

Lake Oswego police are on the lookout Tuesday for a group of people that allegedly robbed an upscale re-sale store.

Employees say they ran off with some $50,000 worth of jewelry, and it’s all caught on camera.

This happened on Sunday, while employees were working at the New to You Simply Posh store in downtown Lake Oswego.  Employees tell FOX 12 the group of four people seemed experienced and knew exactly what they were looking for.

Surveillance images show three of the suspects as they made their way into the store. Employees say the group made it a point to be loud and demanded their attention.

“They took staff to the corner of the store and wanted to have clothes pulled off of the mannequins, and they just really started to ramp up what we would call maximum customer service,” said Divisional Manager of Jewelry Mark Hoyt.

Employees say that gave the fourth suspect an eight minute window of opportunity to make a run at their jewelry case, when they weren’t looking.

“Once he made sure our staff was occupied, he removed the gate back here, pulled tools out of his bag and tried to access the lock on our showcase,” said Hoyt. “He finally accessed it by breaking the showcase glass and immediately started scooping merchandise into his bag.”

Soon after, employees say the man walked out and the group left without buying a thing.  That's when they realized what happened.

“We deal with beautiful valuable things, so when something so ugly and threatening occurs, it does shake you,” said Hoyt.

The store says fortunately their insurance covered the loss, so they can fully compensate their co-signers, and they’re just grateful it wasn’t any worse.

“It’s emotionally distressing, but to put it into perspective, no one got hurt,” said Hoyt. “They could have easily pulled out a weapon and if someone was hurt or accosted, it would be a completely different scenario.”

Employees say they’re hoping someone recognizes the group in the photos they’ve released.  They also want to point out, the four had was appeared to be southern accents.

If you know anything at, call Lake Oswego police.
