CLACKAMAS, OR (KPTV) -

A couple found dead in a Clackamas mobile home park last month were shot and killed, the sheriff's office said Wednesday.

Detectives previously only described the deaths of Lance Fisher, 53, and Brenda Schumacher, 49, as being caused by homicidal violence.

Their bodies were discovered Sept. 2, but investigators believe they were killed before that date.

Investigators released new information Wednesday in hopes of generating new leads in the case and narrowing the time frame of the killings.

Detectives believe the suspect may have disposed of the gun used in the shooting "in a manner that may have caused suspicion" or been observed by witnesses, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

"Everyone is curious to find out exactly what happened, who did it and what," said one resident.  "I would hope if someone knew something, they would speak up. I know little things can be a big deal when it comes to investigations."

Deputies are asking anyone who knew Fisher and Schumacher, or recognize them from photos, to share any information that might assist the investigation.

Neighbors told FOX 12 in September that the couple had been packing for a vacation a week prior to their bodies being discovered, so neighbors thought they were in Las Vegas when they didn't see or hear from them.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. People providing tips can remain anonymous.

Tips can be submitted online at web3.clackamas.us/contact/tip.jsp or by calling 503-723-4949. Refer to case number 15-23650.
