WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

A local mother was hard at work when someone stole her car. The thief was caught on camera, and now the woman wants police to catch him too.

Eva Coppedge's car was stolen in Woodburn on Tuesday night. It turned up in Portland on Wednesday morning, totaled.

Coppedge lives in Salem and the car was her only way of getting to work.

The surveillance video shows a man get into the car and drive off. This is all took place in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box, where Coppedge works, on Arney Road North.

The mother of two stopped at work for a few minutes on Tuesday. When she glanced at the surveillance cameras in the office, she noticed her car was gone.

Coppedge checked the footage and watched as the man stole her car.

"I broke down. I was devastated. I felt violated. Extremely hurt. I work hard for the little I had. And to have someone just take it from you, it's heart breaking, it really is," said Coppedge.

Coppedge said the car was abandoned in Portland but she said it's too damaged to drive.

She would really like the thief to be arrested, for now she has a GoFundMe account set up to help replace her stolen car.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance video, please contact Woodburn Police (503) 982-2345.
