PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Police Bureau has arrested three people who were protesting outside a Hawthorne Boulevard home that is slated for demolition.

Around noon on Thursday, police responded to a home located at 3423 SE Hawthorne due to a report of a man trespassing on the property and sitting on the roof of the home that is scheduled for demolition.

When officers arrived they tried to negotiate with the trespasser but he didn't come down from the roof until 9:30 p.m.

Police said during the afternoon, three people were arrested in connection with a protest that was happening in support of the trespasser.

Robert Lee West, 50, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct in the second degree and interfering with a peace officer.

Scott Lee Atkins, 45, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct in the second degree.

Pedro Sanchez Jr., 53, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct in the second degree and interfering with a peace officer. Police said Sanchez also had an outstanding warrant on an unrelated matter.

All three were taken to the Multnomah County Jail.
