Deputies: Search continues for missing Kentucky man in SW Washington

CARSON, WA (KPTV) -

 The Skamania County Sheriff’s office are continuing the search for a missing man from Kentucky who was set to spend two weeks camping in southwest Washington.

Deputies say Glenn ‘Austin’ Oldfield, 39, was last seen in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest near Lone Butte approximately 31 miles north of Carson Washington.

According to officials, Oldfield last sent a text message to his girlfriend on September 17.

The last known sighting of Oldfield was on September 19 when two hunters contacted him near Lone Butte.

Deputies say when the hunters attempted to help Oldfield and show him the way to the road, he turned and ran the opposite direction.

Search efforts have focused on the area where the car and campsite were located.

According to the release, six searchers and two dog teams searched Wednesday, and 14 searchers and a dog team looked for Oldfield Thursday.
