It's been exactly 13 years since a northwest man died, but a Portland woman just found the guest book from his funeral in her car.

Desiree Barksdale said she bought a car a year ago and just yesterday she found Richard Hosking's guest book under one of the seats.

Barksdale contacted FOX 12 about her story.

FOX 12 was able to find Hosking's grandson, who lives in Kirkland.

Hosking died on October 16, 2002, and Barksdale told FOX 12 she thinks the funeral service programs were meant to be found.

"Just really a bizarre coincidence and I'm not a very superstitious person, but I thought it must be for a reason. His family really needed to have this," said Barksdale.

She told FOX 12 she has talked to the grandson and plans to mail him everything they found, and the grandson told her, he would pay it forward in return.
