Fire crews responded to a house fire in Boring Saturday morning just before 7:30 after an employee from Gerens Farm Supply noticed the flames and called 911.

According to the release, the house was surrounded by a locked fence, so the Gerens Farm Supply employee jumped the fence and knocked on doors to make sure nobody was home.

Officials say the owner was on the property in a nearby outbuilding, and heard the sirens and arriving fire engines.

Fire crews say when they arrived, the fire was in the kitchen and lower rooms.

After the owner confirmed that nobody was in the home, crews went inside to contain the fire.

With the help of Clackamas Fire District #1, Gresham Fire, Sandy Fire, and Estacada Fire, the flames were put out quickly, and the were only on the first level of the two story home.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by a pan being left on the stove top. The pan touched the control knob of the burner, catching it on fire.
