TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A man and woman were arrested after a witness reported seeing them steal from a new home construction site in Tigard.

The witness called police at 4:35 a.m. Monday to report a suspicious vehicle and two people who appeared to be loading items into a truck near Southwest 118th and Gaarde Street.

Police located the pickup in the area and conducted a traffic stop. Officers said stolen property was discovered inside the truck.

Lewis Whitman, 56, and Christine Miller, 43, were arrested on charges of second-degree burglary, criminal trespass and theft.

Whitman also had a warrant for his arrest, according to police, and was booked in the Washington County Jail. Miller was cited and released.
