Police: Man with gun in car arrested after reports of shots fired in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Officers responding to reports of shots fired in northeast Portland arrested a man with a loaded gun in his car, according to police.

Shots were reported in the area of Northeast 53rd Avenue and Fremont Street at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday.

A few blocks away, officers stopped a car at Northeast Cully Boulevard and Skidmore Street.

As officers approached the vehicle, they saw a handgun on the passenger-side floorboard.

The driver, 25-year-old Brian Nacoste, was arrested and booked in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm.

Investigators said no evidence was found of gunfire or gunshot victims.
