PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash on Friday where a delivery truck drove off the road and knocked over a power pole.

Deputies responded to the crash around 4:24 p.m. The crash happened on SW Tonquin Road east of SW Oregon Street.

WCSO said when deputies arrived the driver, Joseph Ely, 43, was still trapped in the refrigerated delivery truck.

Emergency responders could not approach the truck due to power lines lying across it. A crew from PGE quickly responded and cut power to the lines.

Ely was removed from the truck and treated on scene for minor injuries. He was not cited for the crash.

Deputies said Ely told them he lost control of the truck in a curve and could not recover before he hit the pole.

SW Tonquin Road is still closed at this time as a PGE crew repair the power lines.
