Vancouver man looking to find stolen valuable Star Wars collectibles

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The Vancouver Police Department is looking for a suspect who stole a large collection of Star Wars memorabilia from the 1970s and 1980s.

Rich Bates, the owner of the collection, was away on a business trip for a few weeks. When he got back, he discovered that the vast majority of his collection was gone.

Bates shared with Fox 12 that he started his collection when he was fourteen, and the memorabilia is twenty years worth of collecting, buying, and trading.

His entire collection of vintage mint sealed and packaged Star Wars collectibles is worth an estimated $45,000.

To Rich, his collection is more than just about his passion for Star Wars. Star Wars is his philosophy.

The collection does have a price tag; but to Rich, they are priceless.

He wants to know who stole his valuable collectibles, and for them to be returned.
