ESTACADA, OR (KPTV) -

Two mushroom pickers lost overnight in a wilderness area east of Estacada were found by search and rescue crews Monday morning.

A group of three men from the Portland metro area went out into the woods Sunday. Deputies said one of them got worried when it started to get dark outside and the other two failed to meet up at their starting point.

He flagged down an elk hunter a little before 8 p.m. who helped get him to an area where he could call 911.

Deputies began searching for the missing pair early Monday morning near where their pickup was located on Forest Service Road 4610, about 13 miles east of the junction with Highway 224.

Search and rescue crews found the lost pickers around 11 a.m. not too far from where their pickup was parked. Deputies said they were "cold, tired and hungry," but otherwise they were OK.
