SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Salem bar during business hours with employees still working inside.

The robbery happened at Night Deposit Whiskey Library.

Police said the thief broke into the back room of the bar and stole some cash from the office, a gun, and a few of the employees’ belongings.

The camera footage shows the man picking up a beer keg and breaking the door handle with it.

When employees went to deposit money and tried to open the door, they discovered the broken handle and realized someone had broken in.

Owner Norman Newton said he is frustrated that someone could walk in and take things so easily.

“I just felt really violated,” he said. “My employees, they work really hard to make money for their families and here their stuff is sitting in the back where it should be safe, and it gets stolen.”

Newton is hoping that someone will recognize the man from the footage.

The suspect is still at large. If you have any information please call Salem Police.
