TACOMA, WA (KPTV) -

People will go to creative lengths to try to beat traffic in the Seattle-Tacoma area.

That apparently includes transporting undead passengers in the carpool lane.

On Monday, a state trooper pulled over a man who was driving on Interstate 5 near Tacoma with a creepy-looking doll in the passenger seat.

The doll, wearing a pink onesie and a beanie, was safely buckled in. But that didn't prevent the driver from getting a ticket for driving in an HOV lane with only one person in the car.

Trooper Guy Gill posted a photo of the doll on Twitter, saying, "At least he's in the [pumpkin emoji] spirit."

Gill said on Twitter the driver received a $136 ticket for violating HOV lane rules.

"We gave him a break for not having a car seat," Gill added.
