A three-car crash on SR-14 in Vancouver sent one man to the hospital Tuesday morning

Emergency crews responded to the highway near Milepost 1 at 8:34 a.m.

Investigators said a 2008 Lexus GX was heading westbound on the highway approaching Interstate 5 when it hit the back of a 2004 Scion XB. The Scion then slammed into the back of a 2011 Toyota Prius.

Washington State Patrol reported the driver of the Lexus, identified as 35-year-old John Richardson, failed to slow for traffic. Police said he was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the Scion, 51-year-old Richard Jarvis, was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not released by police.

The Scion was totaled, according to troopers. The other two cars were towed from the scene.

Police said the driver of the Prius was uninjured.

Charges are pending in this case, according to WSP.
