ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

Two dogs and two cats died in a fire that engulfed a motor home and a house in Albany early Wednesday morning.

Teresa Hern, who was living in a motor home next to her brother’s house, told firefighters that she smelled smoke around 2 a.m. She said she left the motor home and went into the house to wake up her brother Craig Sink.

Sink said he went outside to look and by that point the motor home was completely engulfed in flames.

The siblings said they could see the flames blowing towards the house and called 911.

Firefighters said Sink was able to get his wife, daughter, friend and pets out of the house safely. Hern’s four pets in the motor home did not survive, however.

The damage is estimated at $160,000.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. No people were injured in the fire.
