Traffic Division officers have arrested two men in connection with Thursday evening’s hit and run crash on Powell Boulevard, according to Portland Police.

The two men were arrested at a home on the 2900 block of southeast 138th Avenue.

Officers were able to get a good description of the vehicle and found it in the garage of the home.

After the vehicle was taken as evidence and further investigation, police were then able to arrest the two suspects.

Police say Miguel Jay Venegas, 21, was arrested on multiple charges including assault II and hit and run.

His uncle, Larry Venegas, 43, was charged with hindering prosecution.

The victim, a 38-year-old male, is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Officials say Miguel Venegas was driving eastbound on Powell Boulevard when he struck the victim who was walking near the side of the roadway.

Traffic was temporarily closed after the crash from 129th to 132nd Avenues.

The charge against Larry Venegas was later dropped, according to court records.
