ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

A Vancouver man was arrested after posing as a licensed contractor and either did not complete the work, or did inferior quality work according to detectives from the Washington County Property Crime Unit.

One victim hired the suspect to complete home repairs in June, and reported that over the course of a month, he would continually ask for money for materials to complete the repairs.

In total, the suspect took an estimated $11,000 from the victim.

According to police, no work was ever done besides some minor brush cutting.

The suspect also took the victim’s 1990 Ford pickup and their 2006 Kymco ATV promising to repair them.

According to police, the suspect gave the truck to someone he owed money to and sold the ATV to an unknown person.

The car and ATV was found by police and returned.

Howard Johnson, 51, faces multiple charges including aggravated theft I, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of crimes committed by Howard Johnson, contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
