Police: Murder suspect caught with bloody towel around head in Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A Lincoln City man is charged with murder after a shooting on Thursday morning, according to police. 

Police responded to reports of a disturbance with gunfire at a home on Northeast 58th Street at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. 

As police were arriving, additional reports described the suspect as a man with a bloody towel wrapped around his head.

Police located the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Antone Bernal, on Northeast Logan Road. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a superficial head wound before he was booked in jail. 

Other officers responding to the scene of the initial disturbance call located the body of 32-year-old Luke McCann of Lincoln City. 

An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. 

Bernal was scheduled to be arraigned on charges including murder and assault in court Friday. Investigators have not released a possible motive in this case.
