Livestock truck carrying sheep overturns in Lebanon

LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

The Lebanon Fire District responded to a motor vehicle accident around 12:30 Saturday afternoon.

When crews arrived at the intersection of 2nd and Tanget, they confirmed that a livestock truck caring an unknown number of sheep had overturned and was leaking fuel in front of the Lebanon Justice Center.

Officials say the driver of the truck was not injured.

Lebanon Fire District personnel quickly tried to take care of the leaking fluids, while the truck driver was able to begin off loading the sheep and transfer them into another trailer.

The number of sheep killed in the accident is unknown at this time.

Tangent Street remains closed while the accident is cleared.

Crews are expecting the street to be re opened around 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Lebanon Police Department is still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
