COOS BAY, OR (KPTV) -

A man was found dead in his Coos Bay home and police have identified a murder suspect who is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 1100 block of California Avenue at 5:39 a.m. Tuesday.

At the scene, officers found the body of 54-year-old David Marion Smith.

Police said Tuesday they developed information identifying 27-year-old Kyle Sun Ray of Coos Bay as a person of interest in the case. On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Ray on charges of murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

He is described as 6'1" and 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police said his current location is unknown, but he is believed to possibly be armed and should be considered dangerous.

Anyone who knows where Ray is or has other information about this investigation is asked to call 541-269-8911.

Anyone who sees Ray should not make contact with him, according to the Coos Bay Police Department, and instead call police.
