A Coos Bay woman has been arrested after the Coos County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging the woman with murder.

On March 22, Coos Bay Police Department responded to a report of a man who was not breathing. When police arrived on scene the found Christopher Koester, 43, deceased.

Police deemed the death to be suspicious and required more investigation.

An autopsy was done and it was discovered that Koester had died from internal bleeding due to a stab wound to the abdomen. The medical examiner classified his death as a homicide.

On Oct. 29, after several months of investigation, which involved interviews and extensive testing, a grand jury returned an indictment charging Priscilla Lynn Koester, 43, with murder. The indictment alleges that Priscilla unlawfully and intentionally caused the death of Christoper.

Murder is a Measure 11 offense and if convicted of murder, the sentence will be life in prison with a 25 year mandatory minimum before being eligible for parole.

After the indictment, a warrant was issued for Priscilla. She was arrested on Tuesday morning in Coos Bay without incident and taken to Coos County Jail.

Priscilla will be arraigned on the indictment on Wednesday.
