Rockaway Beach man arrested after making threats towards police

ROCKAWAY BEACH, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police said a man was arrested after he made several threats to local agencies in Tillamook County.

OSP said on Monday, several agencies received calls from a man in Rockaway Beach claiming he was going to cause violence to law enforcement officers.

Due to those call, Rockaway Police Department and Tillamook Co. Sheriff's Office went to a home and verified the 57-year-old man was at the home in Rockaway.

OSP said based on an investigation, they determined the man was going to travel to Portland on Nov. 3. Police kept an overnight surveillance on the home and at 7:13 a.m. on Nov. 3, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested Tommy Brown.

Brown was taken to Tillamook County Jail on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Agencies who assisted were Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Manzanita Police Department, Tillamook Police Department, FBI, OSP-SWAT, OSP-Bomb Technicians, Veterans Affairs Administration, and Tillamook County District Attorney's Office.
