VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A major drug bust by the Clark-Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force led to the seizure of 14.5 pounds of meth, 8.5 pounds of heroin and 3.8 pounds of cocaine, along with nearly $220,000 in cash.

Detectives received information that two suspects would be traveling north from Vancouver to purchase or re-supply drugs Wednesday.

Surveillance was set up and the two suspects, identified as Miguel Magna, 32, and Juana Santos, 23, were followed to the Seattle area where detectives said they met up with Luciano Rios, 44. Investigators said a transaction appeared to take place, with people at the scene counting money.

Magna, Santos and Rios, driving in two separate vehicles, returned south on Interstate 5 and were stopped by law enforcement as they entered Clark County at the 179th Street Exit.

Deputies said two pounds of heroin was recovered during the traffic stop and all three suspects were taken into custody.

Later Wednesday evening, a search warrant was executed at the Evergreen Park Apartments in Vancouver in connection to this case. Detectives said they recovered methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, guns, including a stolen AR-15, and more than $181,000 in cash.

At another location in Portland, detectives said they recovered an additional $37,000 in cash in a safe that belongs to Magna. Magna, Rios and Santos were arrested on multiple charges. Deputies said they all reside in Mexico.

K-9 Piper, a new police dog just commissioned less than 24 hours earlier, was instrumental in the discovery of the drugs and weapons, according to the Drug Task Force.

The task force reports this is one of the largest drug seizures in the agency's history. The Multnomah County Special Investigations Unit and the Clark County Sheriff's Office were also part of the investigation.
