Shoppers tired of the so-called 'Christmas creep' can find some respite at Nordstrom.

The Seattle-based department store isn't rolling out the Christmas decorations until after the Thanksgiving holiday.

FOX2Now in St. Louis posted a photo on Facebook of a sign a customer encountered at a Nordstrom store announcing the policy.

It reads, "We won't be decking our halls until Friday, November 27. Why? Well, we just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving."

Nordstrom's policy of not decorating for Christmas early is one the company has had in place for years.

Last year, President Jamie Nordstrom told Seattle TV station KIRO 7 the department store has held off on the yuletide cheer for as long as he can remember.

“You see holiday things start to happen earlier and earlier. It’s never been a part of our business to look at what other retailers are doing and say, ‘How can we copy them?’" Nordstrom said. "We want to play our game and be the best Nordstrom we can be. And part of that is celebrating one holiday at a time.”

Nordstrom is also one of the major retailers that refuse to open their doors for shopping on Thanksgiving, instead opting to begin the holiday shopping rush on Black Friday.
