PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man arrested for a shooting near the Cinco de Mayo festival at Waterfront Park in Portland pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Bruce Holdman pleaded guilty Monday to charges of attempted murder with a firearm and second-degree assault with a firearm.

Holdman, 21, was arrested at the Rose Quarter Transit Center after a shooting near the festival along the seawall north of the Morrison Bridge in May.

A 19-year-old victim was located at the crime scene and taken to the hospital. He survived the shooting.

A second suspect, Zachary Sanders, was detained near Skidmore Fountain immediately after the shooting and later arrested on Measure 11 charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.

Sanders, now 18 years old, was 17 at the time of his arrest. He is scheduled for a court hearing Nov. 20.

Investigators determined the shooting was not related to the Cinco de Mayo event and the victim had been in a dispute with the suspects.
