Vancouver Police K9 Tripp to receive body armor

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Vancouver Police Department's K9 Tripp will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., located in East Taunton, WA, are providing the vest. The vest was sponsored by Shana Green of Newcastle, WA.

"The Vancouver Police Department would like to express our gratitude for the generous donation made by Shana Green of Newcastle, Washington and Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. for a protective vest for VPD K9 Tripp. This vest will provide K9 Tripp extra protection while he serves the citizens of Vancouver", says Vancouver Police Chief James McElvain. 

VPD said Tripp's vest will be embroidered with the sentiment "In Memory of K9 Dakota and K9 Ike."
