More fresh snow falls at Cascade ski resorts

GOVERNMENT CAMP, OR (KPTV) -

Snow was once again falling in the Cascade mountain range Wednesday morning, giving area ski resorts and businesses optimism for the upcoming winter.

The snow level was around 4,500 feet, bringing flurries to Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, where officials reported eight inches of snow in the past 72 hours.

Forecasters expected anywhere between two to six inches of snow to fall Wednesday.

It won't be enough for ski resorts to open for business, but the resorts and nearby businesses that rely on winter sports enthusiasts hope it's a sign of a good season ahead.

At the mountain pass level, forecasters were expecting only a trace of snow, so it shouldn't affect travelers on Highway 26 and other major roads.
