PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Four months after deciding to leave the Trail Blazers to join the San Antonio Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge is returning to Portland.

Aldridge and the Spurs face the Blazers at the Moda Center on Wednesday night in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN.

"It's definitely going to be different for me being here where it all started for me," Aldridge said Wednesday.

Aldridge, who is from Texas, spent nine years as a Blazer, after being acquired by Portland in a draft-day trade with the Chicago Bulls in 2006.

He was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2015 and helped lead the Blazers to the Northwest Division title. Aldridge also made his fourth All-Star Game appearance and became the franchise leader in total rebounds in 2015.

Aldridge admitted he expects to hear some boos Wednesday, but he said he still loves the city and the fans of Portland. However, he didn't spend much time outside his hotel after arriving back in town.

"I didn't want to test my luck out on the streets, so I just stayed in the hotel," Aldridge joked.

His departure capped an offseason that saw the Blazers lose four of their five starters, with Wesley Matthews and Robin Lopez leaving as free agents and Nicolas Batum being traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

On Wednesday, Aldridge said he didn't want to talk about his decision in July to leave Portland as a free agent.

"What's done is done. I feel like both sides kind of have what they want," he said, later adding, "They've moved on, I've moved on, so it doesn't matter anymore."

The Blazers are 4-4 to start the season. The Spurs are 5-2.
