Columbia County, OR (KPTV) -

Reports of a shooting north of St. Helens led to a police chase and a suspect taken into custody Thursday morning.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a house on Jacquish Road, just off Highway 30.

Deputies began to chase the suspect, who drove onto Highway 30, according to investigators.

Oregon State Police joined the pursuit and troopers eventually stopped the suspect near Milepost 50.

Investigators said there was a dispute between Brandon McKay, 20, who lives at the location with his family, and 28-year-old David Sorrell, who rents a room with his wife in a building adjacent to the main home.

McKay was shot with a shotgun, but suffered non-life threatening injuries. Sorrell was arrested and booked in jail on charges of attempted murder and assault.
