PARIS (KPTV) -

Families from all over the world are still trying to account for loved ones in France.

Shortly after the attacks, Fox 12 spoke to a Portland man who is currently in Paris.

David Urbaniek was in a bar when the attacks began.

He says at first, managers told them to stay inside, but as things became more uncertain, they told them to get out and get away as quickly as they could.

Urbaniek also described that the atmosphere in France is intensely emotional right now.

The Parisians that I’ve had contact with, they're in disbelief, in horror...there's plenty of tears in the streets. I’m at the airport... and a number of people are waiting for the security to open and there's plenty of people crying, in shock, even the travelers. Even for myself... it's been riding that wave of adrenaline

Urbaniek said having Facebook and Twitter was really helpful during this time.
