LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -

Working smoke alarms helped people living in Lake Oswego escape a late night fire.

Firefighters from Lake Oswego and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue were called to the home on Southwest Childs Road near 65th Avenue at around 11:40 Saturday night.

Fire crews say they were able to quickly knock down the fire and kept damage to just one room in the home.

The three people and dog that were inside the home were able to escape without injury.

Crews are investigating what caused the fire and how much damage was done.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue want to remind people to have working smoke alarms and to test them regularly.
