SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

An Oregon Army veteran is without his bicycle after someone stole it on Veterans Day.

Jedidiah Sanford says he went to the Red Robin in Salem on Wednesday to get a free hamburger.

He parked his bike outside and chained it up before going inside.

Sanford says when he returned 40 minutes later, the bicycle was gone.

“It seems kind of messed up that you go somewhere to get appreciated and to have someone take something of yours on the same day that people are saying thank you,” said Stanford.

Sanford says he plans to save up to get a new bike, and that is sister is also working to raise money.

He served in the Army and hurt his back in a Humvee accident.
