PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A landslide over the weekend closed a section of railroad track that carries Amtrak trains between Seattle and Portland.

BNSF Railway Company closed the tracks between Tacoma and Olympia Saturday.

Amtrak said it was using shuttle buses in that area to transport passengers on the Coast Starlight and Amtrak Cascades trains.

Amtrak expects to have the affected portion of track back open sometime Monday afternoon.

The company recommends checking its website for the latest status updates if you plan to travel by train Monday.
