Here’s a friendly face you won’t soon forget.

Rowdy is a 13-year-old black Lab with a skin condition called vitiligo. This disease causes him to lose color in different patches on his body.

But this dog’s patches are perfectly placed.

Rowdy has lost the color pigmentation around his eyes, giving him a mask-like look.

Owners Niki and Tim Umbenhower said Rowdy just started losing the color around his eyes recently, and he attracted quite a bit of attention.

“He’s like our own little celebrity around town,” said Tim. “Everybody loves to stop us and wonder what we did to him or if we painted it on there.”

His new look is not the only big event in Rowdy’s life. The Umbenhowers said he survived poisoning by river water and had to have his stomach pumped.

They also said Rowdy was accidentally shot by mistake by police during what they thought was a burglary.

Local veterinarians said they have never seen anything like it. Luckily, they said vitiligo is not life threatening and the condition will not have any effect on Rowdy’s life.

Vitiligo is most commonly known as the skin condition that Michael Jackson had. Both humans and pets can have the condition.
